First Hearing for Hawaii Marriage Equality Bill Scheduled

hawaii field organizers, marriage equality With the special legislative session just five days away, the Hawaii Senate Committee on Judiciary and Labor scheduled the first public hearing for SB1, the historic bill that "recognizes marriages between individuals of the same sex. Extends to same-sex couples the same rights, benefits, protections, and responsibilities of marriage that opposite-sex couples receive."

A strong majority of Hawaii residents along with hundreds of Hawaii businesses and faith leaders believe that everyone in the Aloha state should be able to marry the person they love. Now is your chance to join them. If you're a Hawaii resident, make sure you send in your statement of support for this historic bill now.

HRC organizers are on the ground through the end of session working alongside Hawaii United for Marriage and other coalition partners to make sure every supporter of marriage equality in Hawaii contacts their state legislator and makes their voice heard. Join us in these important final days.
