Fighting Pheasants, Phone Banking and First Fridays
July 6, 2010
On Wednesday, the Human Rights Campaign and Equality South Dakota held our first Sioux Falls phonebank; our friend Ringer, the mascot for the Fighting Pheasants, was not in attendance. Four pizzas were eaten and hundreds of calls were made to fair-minded voters urging them to contact lawmakers to ask for support of a repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”. The best part was that many of our phone bank volunteers joined us for “stop and dial” actions at Falls Park and at First Friday’s sculpture walk in Downtown Sioux Falls.
We’ll have a full week of letter writing house parties in addition to the Wednesday night phonebank in Sioux Falls. If you’d like to join us in-person or on the virtual phonebank, contact Karl at Karl.Bach@hrc.org
