Fighting DADT from the Fargo Street Fair

It’s been a busy week here in North Dakota. On Tuesday, HRC screened “Ask Not” in downtown Fargo. More than 40 people stopped by to watch the film and most wrote letters to lawmakers urging the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” this year. Building off that momentum, volunteers called through HRC’s membership list on Wednesday to remind folks to contact their Senators. By far the most exciting part of last week was the Fargo Street Fair. From Thursday to Saturday, HRC volunteers asked Fargoans to call their Senators right then and there. More than 300 said yes and we filled up 3 Senator voicemail boxes with messages! To celebrate we filled up on Fair food. The fried cheese curds were great, but don’t take my word for it! On Thursday, July 29th, I’ll be in Grand Forks, ND for another screening of “Ask Not”: When: Thursday July 29th at 7pm Where: Fire Hall Theater, 412 2nd Ave North, Grand Forks What: Watch the PBS documentary “Ask Not” and learn how you can take action!
