Federal hate crimes bill advances!
April 23, 2009
BREAKING: This afternoon, the U.S. House Judiciary Committee voted 15-12 to advance the federal hate crimes bill, the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009 (H.R. 1913). Committee members voted to defeat all hostile amendments during the two-day markup. The bill will now be scheduled for a full House floor vote, which we're hearing could occur as early as next week.
