Family Research Council, American Family Association Leaders Praise “Kill the Gays” Bill

Uganda’s “Kill the Gays” bill, which would outlaw homosexuality in the country and previously included provisions that made being LGBT a crime punishable by death in some circumstances, is receiving support from U.S.-based anti-gay extremists, including the Family Research Council’s (FRC) Tony Perkins and the American Family Association’s (AFA) Bryan Fischer.
The bill passed a parliamentary committee last week, with the Ugandan Speaker saying she wanted to pass the legislation as a “Christmas gift” for anti-gay Christian activists.
Fundamentalist U.S. pastors such as Lou Engle and Scott Lively played a leading role in whipping up anti-gay sentiment in Uganda – which proved crucial in providing momentum for the bill. Check out the supportive tweets from FRC’s Perkins and AFA’s Fischer:
