Everyone is Gay at SXSW!

The following post comes from Ben Shallenberger, HRC Media Production Manager:
No, seriously. There's actually a panel at SXSW called "Everyone is Gay."
Today is the final part of the Interactive Digital Media conference of SXSW. For the past five days everyone from graphic designers to programmers, to filmmakers, and everyone in between convened in Austin to learn about the future best practices in digital media. Along the way, I think many people saw the future of the LGBT community. There's been amazing representation for our community at this conference.
One panel I attended yesterday was by Kristin Russo, and Dannielle Owens-Reid, the founders of EveryoneIsGay.com, an advice blog run by two lesbians who use humor to help LGBT youth in crisis deal with coming out, dating problems, and abuse.
There was also an LGBT meet-up put on by the Austin Chronicle as a place for attendees of the conference to meet and network with other like-minded people.
Virtually every panel I've attended has included LGBT people in either the panel or the audience, and we're learning so much about social media, web content, and getting out the stories of the people we work with.
And of course, Austin, being one of the more progressive cities in Texas, is a great place to have this conference. So much support here for all areas of our lives.
