ENDA, PA Non-Discrimination and Marrriage on Horizon in the Keystone State

On Wednesday, HRC Regional Field Director Lynne Bowman and I were in Philadelphia to meet with Equality Pennsylvania and other local and national partners to coordinate our organization's work in the region around the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, the Pennsylvania Non-Discrimination Act and the public education campaign building support for marriage equality in the region.

This is a very exciting time for the LGBT community in Pennsylvania. The stakes are higher than ever with a marriage case pending and strong, bipartisan efforts moving nondiscrimination legislation forward in Harrisburg.

After the U.S. Senate’s historic passage of ENDA in November, we have a fighting chance to pass ENDA in the House with many important congressional priorities in Pennsylvania.

We have a lot of work we have to do to make sure we succeed and great potential for victory on all fronts.
