ENDA Organizing Still Going Strong
April 8, 2010
While much of the LGBT community’s focus is on the repeal of "Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell," organizing around the Employment Non-Discrimination Act is still going strong. Here are a couple of updates to give you a taste of what’s still happening... Just recently, our friends at St. Lawrence College in Canton sent in dozens of hand written letters to Representative Bill Owens in upstate New York. This total adds to the hundreds of letters that have previously been delivered to the Congressman from throughout his district urging his support of the inclusive legislation. In South Florida, our friends at Save Dade have kept up the pressure on their legislators, as well. Over the past couple of months they have collected hundreds of postcards from constituents all over the Miami area urging Mario and Lincoln Diaz-Balart to support ENDA in the US House. With hopes high for action on ENDA this spring, it’s been great having committed activists all over the country continuing to do the hard work to making this a reality. Keep up the great work out there and contact your members of congress to support ENDA today!
