HRC partnered with Sonicbids to help identify up and coming emerging Equality Rocks artists. 144 musicians and bands submitted to the listing and explained why equality mattered to them. Ten artists from all over the world and across multiple genres were chosen to become a part of the Equality Rocks Emerging Artists campaign.
Equality Rocks is a public engagement campaign featuring prominent musicians - both American and international - who support committed gay and lesbian couples getting married. The campaign is sparking conversations about the power of love, fairness and equality. Prominent supporters of the campaign include: Florence and the Machine, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Sara Bareilles, Phoenix, Tegan & Sara, SOJA and many more.
The emerging artists chosen include:
Brite Lite Brite from Boston, MA
Cultfever from Brooklyn, NY
Hillary Reynolds Band from Boston, MA
Jevy from San Diego, CA
Ori Dagan from Toronto, Canada
Parralox from London, England
These Knees from Cleveland, OH
Young Kaii from Providence, RI
Kiernan McMullan from Nashville, TN
We asked each of the artists to submit a video introducing themselves and showing their support for marriage equality. To hear more from the artists who rock for equality, check out HRC on Spotify.
