Ellen DeGeneres Responds to J.C. Penney Boycott

In a rare move, comedienne-turned-talk show host Ellen DeGeneres took a moment on her program yesterday to address One Million Moms’ planned boycott of J.C. Penney following the announcement that she would serve as spokesperson.
One Million Moms, which has just 41,000 followers on Facebook, alleged that DeGeneres’ sexuality would cause J.C. Penney’s to "lose customers with traditional values."
J.C. Penney's has defended their decision to hire the talk show host, claiming DeGeneres' "extraordinary values" represent the values of the 110-year-old company, CEO Ron Johnson told CBS News this morning.
“I stand for honesty, equality, kindness, compassion, treating people the way you want to be treated and helping those in need,” DeGeneres said yesterday on her program. “To me those are traditional values. That’s what I stand for.”
DeGeneres goes on to thank J.C. Penney and her supporters on Facebook for standing by her despite the bullying.
“My haters are my motivators,” she said.
