Election Eve: Campaigns in Home Stretch

Two updates from HRC organizers out in the field on election eve... 
Adrian Matanza in Washington State: In the last 48 hours before the election deadline, I will be working on turning out voters to vote APPROVE on Referendum 71. Working with volunteers across the state in our HQ, satellite offices and from home calling voters to remind them. Also, along with the local HRC steering committee, we are waving signs in targeted areas across Seattle; meeting with PFLAG moms on Capitol Hill directing people to the Post Office and reminding them that they need ample postage for their ballots. Monica Keyes in Maine: 
With the polls opening in less than 12 hours, thousands of volunteers across the state of Maine are on the phones and at the doors of supporters for the final push of what has been a long and enduring battle for equality. Since Thursday alone, 46,646 of our supporters have been contacted face-to-face as part of the No on 1 campaign's GOTV canvasses. Out of those 46,000, the Secretary of State has reported that over 14,000 of them have come to cast their ballots early! Election day canvasses will begin at 6AM tomorrow and will continue on a rolling basis statewide, through 8PM, as will phone banks and other GOTV efforts. Above, campaign staff and volunteers are bustling around the Lewiston office to prepare canvass materials for tomorrow. Stay tuned here tomorrow to get the latest on what's happening at the polls.
