Eat, Drink, and Marry!

This post comes from Leah Solo, Coalitions Committee Chair, Minnesotans United for All Families:

In honor of HRC Board of Governor Corey Smith and Jason Jacobson’s upcoming nuptials, their friends Amy and Kevin threw a house party fundraiser this weekend for HRC’s Minnesota Family Freedom PAC. The PAC gives 100 percent of its resources to the fight against the amendment that would limit the freedom to marry for same sex couples here in Minnesota.

The food was great, the guests were merry, and celebration was in the air, but my favorite part was the tower of ring pops and popcorn in boxes that said “Pop the Question”. For Amy, this was not only a reference to marriage, but an encouragement to talk to your friends and family about the upcoming vote. As she put it, it can be hard to talk to your friends and family about the issue. We all need to be reminded how important it is to do it!

HRC is a proud supporter of the coalition, Minnesotans United for All Families, working to defeat the amendment banning same-sex marriage in the state.
