Don’t Miss Bishop Gene Robinson Tonight on Daily Show

Don’t miss the Rt. Rev. Gene Robinson on Comedy Central’s Daily Show tonight, Dec. 10, 2012.
Bishop Robinson has written a new book, God Believes in Love: Straight Talk about Gay Marriage that he will be discussing with Jon Stewart this evening. This book, which has been endorsed by President Barack Obama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu, is generous, funny, accessible and profoundly faithful. Robinson read from his book to a full house at HRC earlier this fall and no one left unmoved and without buying a book! I am proud to have worked with Robinson for years now as a founding member of HRC’s Religion Council and a core architect in our collective work in faith communities.
While his legacy puts him with the greats in LGBT justice work, his influence is only growing as he continues to be one of the most prophetic voices in our movement. He has done this by being unapologetic in his embrace of LGBT people as holy people; exuberant and infectious in his love for his husband, his girls, and his community; and grounded in a deep faith that radiates as authentic and true from the core of his being.
What Gene is not is a humorless. You can see for yourself by watching his previous appearance on the Daily Show here.
I hope you will watch him tonight, buy the book and check out in the amazing movie. Love, Free and Die, which charts out his influence on the Episcopal church and indeed Christendom. The movie is currently traveling the country.
