DC’s 9:30 Club to Host Fundraiser for Marylanders for Marriage Equality

American Idol runner-up and current Queen front-man Adam Lambert will headline a fundraiser for Marylanders for Marriage Equality at Washington D.C.’s 9:30 Club on Tuesday, Sept. 25. 

Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley, a marriage equality advocate, applauded the 9:30 Club for hosting the event and helping to advance equality.

Lambert, a Grammy-nominee, is the first openly gay mainstream pop star to reach number one on the Billboard album chart. Since leaving American Idol in 2009, he has released two studio albums, For Your Entertainment and Trespassing.  In 2011, Lambert joined the iconic rock band Queen.

HRC has set up a special fund to direct 100 percent of your contribution today to defend the marriage equality law in Maryland. HRC is a founding member and leader of Marylanders for Marriage Equality, the coalition campaign working to defend marriage in the Free State, and your contribution will support the coalition's efforts and counttoward your HRC membership.
