D.C. Office of Human Rights Unveils Groundbreaking Transgender Ad Campaign
September 14, 2012 by Eric Cameron, Digital Media Associate
The D.C. Office of Human Rights just unveiled new ads from their Transgender and Gender Identity Respect campaign.
The five-ad series, which is being described as the nation’s first government-funded campaign focused exclusively on the betterment of transgender and gender non-conforming people, will be displayed on bus shelters throughout the city this fall and winter.
The ad below features Consuella, a transgender woman from the D.C. area. Other ads feature transgender men and a genderqueer person.
All ads remind viewers that discrimination based on gender identity and expression is illegal in the District of Columbia. They also include resources for reporting discrimination.
