DC: Join HRC, Veterans and Kathy Griffin for a DADT Repeal Rally Thursday
March 15, 2010
This Thursday at noon, join the Human Rights Campaign, veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, and nationally known entertainer Kathy Griffin at a rally on Freedom Plaza to call for the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" this year. RSVP TO THE FACEBOOK EVENT Across the country, members of the military, political leaders on both sides of the aisle, and everyday Americans are speaking out in support of repeal. This week, Kathy Griffin is traveling to Washington to add her voice, by lobbying Members of Congress, meeting with veterans and mobilizing support. An outspoken voice for equality and supporter of our troops, Kathy's advocacy for the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" is a natural fit. In 2008, she traveled to Iraq to provide entertainment and, as she said, support our troops "110 percent" as they fight two wars. She saw up close the bravery our men and women in uniform demonstrate each and every day while defending our country. As the star of the Emmy Award winning "My Life on the D-List", her advocacy for ending the ban that has discharged 13,000 otherwise qualified men and women from the military, and many thousands more who've chosen not to re-enlist, will be heard across the country. Join us this Thursday as we send a message to the halls of Congress and around the country that it's time for "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" to end.
