November 1, 2013 by Adrian Matanza, Senior Regional Field Organizer
After 13 hours of hearing testimony on the marriage equality bill, the House Committees on Judiciary and Finance adjourned around midnight only to reconvene thismorning. With over 5000 people registered to testify in person, the bill is heading into its second day of hearings.
It’s not too late to stand with the thousand of Hawaii residents that support SB1, the marriage equality bill. Send a message to your Hawaii State House members urging them to support this historic piece of legislation. If you happen to be in Hawaii, join us at the state capitol in Honolulu to show your support.
HRC is a proud founding member of the Hawaii United for Marriage campaign. We’ve continued to partner with the organization since the announcement of the special session to generate thousands of contacts to Hawaii State legislators and help folks make their voices heard. Stay tuned to HRC’s blog for more updates on marriage equality in the Aloha State.
