Omar Thomas, an Assistant Professor of Harmony and Music Education at Boston’s Berklee College of Music, has written a piece entitled “We Will Know” that reflects on the past, present and future of the movement for full LGBT equality. You can hear the first movement, “Hymn,” in the video below and hear Thomas talk about the project.
A portion of all proceeds from the EP will benefit the Human Rights Campaign and the fight for LGBT equality.
Thomas is the conductor of the Omar Thomas Large Ensemble, which released its first album this year. That record, “I AM,” reached #1 on the iTunes jazz charts and #13 on the Billboard chart for jazz.
