Colorado Senate Panel Hears Testimony on Civil Unions Bill
February 15, 2012 by Adrian Matanza, Senior Regional Field Organizer
This afternoon, the Colorado Senate Judiciary Committee heard testimony on SB-2, the civil unions bill. The bill is likely to pass in the Senate with bi-partisan support.
As you may recall, last year, the Senate passed similar legislation (SB 172), 23-12, with bi-partisan support. The bill unfortunately failed in the House Judiciary Committee by a vote of 6-5.
This year, with the support of Governor Hickenlooper and more Republicans than ever before, the chances for passage are much higher.
