HRC President Chad Griffin joined Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley and Senator Ben Cardin to rally support for Question 6 in Baltimore this morning. Baltimore NAACP President Tessa Hill Aston, State Delegate Luke Clippinger, and the Rev. Donte Hickman also participated.
There are only a few hours left to Get Out the Vote for Question 6. Last week, both the Washington Post and the Baltimore Sun came out for Question 6.
The Sun notes that supporting Question 6 is simply a matter of fairness:
Everyone deserves to be treated equally under the law, and for that reason, we urge voters to support Question 6.
The Post points to the growing support for equality nationwide:
The tide of history is clear; the main question now is the tempo of change. Marylanders should take pride if they put themselves at the forefront of the move toward fairness.
HRC has set up a special fund to direct 100 percent of your contribution today to defend the marriage equality law in Maryland. HRC is a founding member and leader of Marylanders for Marriage Equality, the coalition campaign working to defend marriage in the Free State, and your contribution will support the coalition's efforts and count toward your HRC membership.
