As part of HRC's celebration of National Coming Out Day, we spent this morning on the campus of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, spreading the word about the proposed constitutional amendment banning recognition of same-sex relationships that Minnesotans will vote on in just a few weeks.
Mike Manning, former HRC intern and cast member of "The Real World: Washington, DC," canvassed alongside our partners from Minnesotans United for All Families, registering students to vote and making sure they understand the ballot issue.
This evening, we'll celebrate National Coming Out Day with an event to provide students the knowledge and tools they need to be successful organizers and activists, as well as to discuss the importance and history of National Coming Out Day.
Manning will also share his own coming out story, which happened on national TV just a few short years ago.
Stay tuned for more updates from our time here in Minnesota!
