Earlier this week, prospective LGBT parents in the Los Angeles area had the opportunity to learn about opening their homes, building families and going through the adoption process. There are approximately 500 children in the LA area – and over 100,000 nationwide – in need of forever homes:
The event comes during National Adoption Month – a time when we place heavy focus on the ongoing need to find permanent families for all children and youth in foster care, and to celebrate the thousands of adoptive families that are part of the fabric of every community.
LA County participates in HRC’s All Children – All Families program, meaning they’ve achieved all benchmarks of LGBT cultural competence and are fully welcoming of LGBT individuals and families. Find an agency in your community now.
