Back to the Future in NH
June 2, 2009
I'm driving to the airport, on my way to Manchester where I will hopefully see New Hampshire become the 6th state to enact marriage equality. Two weeks ago the marriage bill fell one vote short of becoming law. As we posted here yesterday, a House and Senate conference committee reached agreement on the marriage equality bill over the weekend and the final vote is set for tomorrow.
I look forward to seeing Mo Baxley, executive director of New Hampshire Freedom to Marry and congratulating her on all of her hard work. It's been such a pleasure to partner with NHFTM over the past several months to get us to this important day. If you're in New Hampshire, please plan to join us for a Vote Day Event on Wednesday morning at the state Capitol. You can find more details and RSVP here. As I return to the Granite State today, I hope to help prepare for groundbreaking history. I will keep you posted.
