Bachmann Staffer: Marriage Equality Could Lead to People Marrying Eiffel Tower
November 22, 2011 by Dan Rafter, Online Campaigns Manager
Tamara Scott, Michele Bachmann’s campaign co-chair in Iowa, is comparing marriage equality to polygamy and says it can lead to people marrying inanimate objects like the Eiffel Tower. RightWingWatch has the video of Scott’s bizarre conversation with Family Leader president Bob Vander Plaats:
This isn’t the first time Bachmann’s campaign has aligned itself with the anti-gay Vander Plaats. Earlier this year, Bachmann and Rick Santorum were the only two GOP candidates to sign the Family Leader’s extremist Marriage Vow – which called homosexuality a choice and a risk to public health.
HRC’s Americans for Marriage Equality is working to ensure same-sex couples can honor their commitment and love to one another. Help HRC send a message to Bachmann and her extremist allies that their bigotry does not represent the views of most Americans - sign our pledge saying ‘I Do’ to marriage equality, and learn more about how you can get involved today.
