Arizona House Passes “License to Discriminate” Bill

Today the Arizona State House of Representatives voted to pass SB 1062, which would allow businesses to refuse services to the LGBT community on the basis of religious freedom.

After passing the Senate yesterday, the bill passed 33 to 27 today and now heads to Governor Jan Brewer for signature.

If enacted, SB1062 could be used to protect business that discriminate not only again the LGBT community but also unmarried women or those of different religions.
