Anna Wintour Talks Obama’s Marriage Decision on The Colbert Report
May 10, 2012 by Charlie Joughin
Last night the legendary Anna Wintour, Editor-in-chief of Vogue Magazine, stopped by The Colbert Report to discuss the latest Costume Institute exhibit happening at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, this year honoring Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada. While there, Stephen Colbert brought up Wintour’s advocacy on behalf of LGBT equality and the president’s announcement that he supports marriage equality for gay and lesbian couples. Wintour, who was honored with HRC’s Ally of Equality Award at Greater New York Gala this year, noted Obama’s support brought “tears to the office of Vogue.” Last year Ms. Wintour appeared in a video for HRC’s successful New Yorkers for Marriage Equality campaign, advocating for marriage rights for gay and lesbian couples in New York.
