Event: Lessons from the 2012 State Victories for Marriage Equality

Today HRC will co-host a panel discussion alongside the Alliance for Justice to honor a momentous year of marriage equality victories and explore some of the lessons learned from last year’s successful state campaigns and coalitions.
Learn more about the work that went into building coalitions, connecting to new allies and developing robust grassroots movements. The panelists will also discuss how they plan to leverage relationships built with supporters and legislators moving forward.
Panelists include Marissa Brown of Alliance for Justice, Richard Carlbom of Minnesotans United for Marriage, Carrie Evans of Marylanders for Marriage Equality, Marty Rouse of HRC, Betsy Smith of Mainers United for Marriage, and HRC’s Tony Wagner, who also worked on Washington United for Marriage.
