Five former New Jersey governors support marriage equality, according to NBC New York.
Former Democratic governors Brendan Byrne, James Florio, Jim McGreevey and Jon Corzine support marriage equality. As does former Republican governor Tom Kean, who said:
"There are already people living together, as good neighbors and good people and contributing to the economy of this state, and I don't see any reason why they shouldn't be able to continue with the blessing of marriage."
Democratic State Senator Dick Codey – who has served twice as Acting Governor – also supports marriage equality, and is a key supporter of the marriage equality legislation.
Last week, Republican Governor Chris Christie said he would veto any marriage equality legislation passed by the state legislature.
