ACT NOW: Send a Letter to Your Nevada State Senator to Support Equality
April 18, 2011 by Adrian Matanza, Senior Regional Field Organizer
Last month, the Nevada state senate Judiciary committee voted in favor of equality and passed SB180, legislation that would add gender identity and expression to the state’s hate crimes law and SB368, a bill that would prohibit discrimination in housing on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity or expression.
Today, the full senate is expected to vote on these two bills. Click here to send a letter to you state senator urging them to do the right thing and support equality for ALL Nevadans.
The Las Vegas Steering Committee is working with coalition partners in the state to make sure SB180 and SB368, along with a handful of other pro-equality legislation become law. To find out more about getting involved, contact Steven Amend at [email protected].
