ABC has canceled ‘Work It,’ the offensive comedy that featured two men dressing as women to gain employment, after two airings, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
HRC partnered with GLAAD to speak out against the offensive comedy, releasing an ad, running an op-ed in the Huffington Post, and asking to meet with ABC Entertainment president Paul Lee.
The series debuted in early January to about six million viewers – and plunged 20 percent the following week. The show was widely panned by critics – The Hollywood Reporter’s Tim Goodman said the show was “awful and embarrassing” for ABC, while Maureen Ryan at Huffington Post dubbed it “one of the worst sitcoms of all time.”
