65,000 Strong: HRC Delivers Strong Message to Governor Brewer
February 26, 2014 by HRC staff
Post submitted by Adrian Matanza, Former HRC Regional Field Director
This morning, HRC volunteer leaders delivered 65,000 petition signatures from people all over the country urging Governor Jan Brewer to veto SB1062, the "License to Discriminate" bill. The bill was passed in the state legislature last week and is on the desk of the Governor. Governor Brewer has until midnight on Saturday evening to sign, veto, or do nothing, which would force the bill into law.
These signatures join the thousands of individuals, businesses, religious leaders and organizations calling for the governor to veto this discriminatory bill. Stand with the people of Arizona and add your name to this growing list of folks who support fairness and equality in the Grand Canyon State.
Are you an Arizona resident? Make sure you call the Governor and let her know that vetoing this bill is the right thing to do. It is bad for business and bad for Arizona. Contact Governor Brewer here, or text AZ to 30644 to be connected directly to her office.
