40th NAACP Image Awards nominees to include LGBT actors/inclusive projects….Beyonce Knowles

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) blog has determined that this year's list of NAACP Image Award nominees includes a number of gay actors and LGBT-inclusive projects.
The NAACP Image Awards, established in 1967, is a high-visibility event that honors outstanding black actors, actresses, writers, producers and directors.

The 40th Annual NAACP Image Awards will be broadcast live Thursday, Feb. 12 at 8 PM on Fox.
NOTE FROM CHRIS: Singer, songwriter, LGBT supporter and über-entertainer Beyoncé Giselle Knowles (pictured) was nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture for her role as Deena Jones in "Dreamgirls." Beyonce also led the music nominations with five nods including outstanding artist, album, song, and music video for "Single Ladies" and "If I Were a Boy."
