Several supporters of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) recently scheduled a meeting with Representative David Joyce’s district director in Ohio to discuss the importance of basic workplace protections for LGBT Americans.

The meeting revealed a high level of support for ENDA from locally owned businesses, institutions of faith, and constituents, but especially highlighted support from lifelong Republican voters like Ed Kancler and Bill Libby. Overall, the meeting went well as Rep. Joyce’s district director was attentive and appeared receptive to our message.

Although Rep. Joyce was in the Capitol and unable to attend this meeting, ENDA supporters are confident about meeting face to face with him in the coming weeks during the summer recess. Until then, we will continue to work hard to build support for ENDA in northeast Ohio.
