With Election Day right around the corner, today is the final day to cast an early vote in the Houston election. On Tuesday, November 3, voters from across Houston will head to the polls to cast their ballot on Houston’s Equal Rights Ordinance – HERO. But until 7pm tonight, it’s all hands on deck to get as many supporters to the polls TODAY as possible.
Securing early votes in the weeks before Election Day gives the campaign the opportunity to focus resources or time or money more tightly when Election Day rolls around. For the past two weeks, HRC has undertaken a massive voter contact effort to reach out to our members who are registered voters in Houston and push them to vote early. Thousands of HRC supporters across Houston have received mailers, phone calls, text messages, and emails sharing information about HERO and encouraging them to vote early. Our Houston Board and Steering Committee local volunteer leadership have engaged in calling area members and sharing a message about Early Voting. When polls close today, we want to know that we’ve done all we could do to get HRC members’ votes in the door early – because we know EVERY VOTE COUNTS!
To find a polling location near you or to learn how to vote by mail, check out the Houston Unites' Election Center. If you are voting in Texas, whether on Election Day or voting early in person, you’ll need to take an unexpired government-issued photo identification.
