Today, in Houston, Texas, early voting begins on the Houston Equal Rights Ordiance (HERO), which protects residents and visitors from discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, religion and ten other characteristics.

Every vote counts in this important election.  We need you to turn out to vote “yes” on Houston Proposition 1.

Do you live in Houston? Make a plan to vote early starting today, October 19th through October 30th. To find a polling location near you or to learn how to vote by mail, check out the Houston Unites' Election Center. Remember if you are voting in Texas, whether you’re votingon Election Day or voting early in person, you’ll need to take an unexpired government-issued photo identification.

HRC is on the ground in Houston as part of the Houston Unites coalition working to protect HERO with a “YES”vote on Houston Proposition 1.  To learn more and join the fight, contact .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)sign up to volunteer in Houston and other select Texas cities, or make a contribution to help ensure we have the resources to win.
