Equality Tour to Bring Pride, Empowerment to Utah

I’m on the ground in Salt Lake City, one of my favorite places in the country, to launch our nationwide bus tour, “On the Road to Equality.” I can’t think of a more fitting place to kick off this journey. HRC has always had a strong presence here in Salt Lake City and the LGBT community here is among the most vibrant in the country. From new polling that we’ve released, we also know that the people of Utah support a number of equality issues, particularly non-discrimination laws. Unfortunately that support hasn’t yet led to statewide protections for LGBT people in employment, housing and public accommodations. That’s why we’re here – to raise awareness of the issues of equality and fairness.
