On Thursday, October 6, local hospital representatives gathered in downtown in Atlanta to discuss how medical centers and health professionals can provide equitable and inclusive care to their LGBT patients.

HRC events in Louisville, KY got off to a rainy but inspiring start this morning. This morning’s event was a two-part forum beginning with a panel presentation and moving into workshop discussions. The tremendous energy, enthusiasm and wealth of ideas in the room was exactly what was and is needed to support a Faith Leaders for Fairness coalition.

A Faithful Dialogue: Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and our Religious Communities” welcomed a diverse group of students and community members alike to give voice to an otherwise silenced struggle for all too many – a struggle to reconcile their religious upbringing or beliefs with LGBT identities.

HRC’s bus tour took us to the Bluegrass state this week, and I couldn’t be more excited to be here in Lexington and then Louisville before the bus makes its stop in DC for HRC’s National Dinner. My trip began bright and early (for college students), at the University of Kentucky’s Student Center in Lexington...

Located in the Ozark mountains of northwest Arkansas, Eureka Springs is a bastion of liberalism in a very conservative state. Eureka Springs has taken several strides toward full LGBT equality, including laws which created the first Domestic Partner Registry in the state, a municipal employment non-discrimination policy, and being the only city in the state to provide benefits to same-sex partners of city workers.
