It’s make or break time in Minnesota, and HRC staff and volunteers are digging in for the final get-out-the-vote push. With voters heading to the polls tomorrow, we’re taking nothing for granted. We had hundreds of volunteers knocking on doors and making calls over the weekend.

Not only was this weekend Halloween, a time when tricksters of all sorts come out to play, but it was also the traditional kickoff to Get-Out-the-Vote efforts for campaigns big and small. Sometimes these events go hand in hand, for better or worse. Here in Minnesota, the unholy political alliance between the National Organization for Marriage and the Catholic Church hierarchy reared its ugly head once again, and not in a fun Halloween sort of way.

As he’s doing all over the country, President Barack Obama was here in Minnesota on Saturday to rally the troops for the election, which is only 8 days away! Tens of thousands of people turned out at the U of MN to hear the President speak and show their support for Mark Dayton and the rest of the DFL ticket. The general admission line started early in the morning and wound around the U of MN campus for nearly a mile, as Minnesotans flocked to the event.

One of the great things about working at HRC is meeting our members and supporters.
