Washington, D.C.’s 5th annual Rainbow Seder took place this past Sunday with nearly 100 attendees from across the local region – the largest Rainbow Seder to date! HRC was honored to again host this unique celebration of Passover organized by the DC Jewish Community Center’s Kurlander Program for GLBT Outreach and Engagement (GLOE).

In a few days, Jews all over the world will gather with family and friends to tell the story of Passover.

In the LGBT community, facing persecution for how one identifies can often lead to exile, both forcefully and by choice, from one’s community.

The Jewish Federations of North America is adding “gender identity or expression” in their non-discrimination policy.

We need to bring a level of intentionality to LGBT inclusivity in our community and not just be supportive when the issue arose.
