Today Karl and I ventured to a more conservative part of the district, Hampton Bays. Despite local warnings that we might find less support, we were pleasantly surprised to find several local business owners and constituents willing to write letters of support. In fact, owner after owner recommended other businesses for us to visit!

Today, Congressman Michael Honda (D-CA) introduced the Reuniting Families Act in the U.S. House of Representatives. Included in this critical immigration legislation is the Uniting American Families Act (UAFA), a provision that would allow U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents in same-sex relationships to sponsor their partners for immigration purposes.
