This afternoon, Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-MA) introduced the Matthew Shepard Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act in the U.S. Senate. The bill was introduced with bipartisan cosponsors including Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT), Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-ME), Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), Sen. Arlen Specter (D-PA) and others.
