Tony Wagner
Western Regional Field Director
Tony Wagner joined the Human Rights Campaign in May 2008. As a regional field director, Tony manages the field and political activities in the Great Plains and Western U.S. He supervises field organizers, develops and implements strategies to pass federal, state and local legisltion, and has managed the field efforts for national campaigns, including the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell. Tony works with HRC volunteer leaders in 19 states and a diverse cross-section of coalition partners to achieve the organization's goals.
Immediately prior to joining HRC, Tony served in various senior level state roles on Hillary Clinton's 2008 presidential campaign in Arizona, Texas and Pennsylvania.
Tony's involvement in campaigns and politics began in 1994 with an internship in the constituency outreach department at the Democratic National Committee. Since that time, he has managed campaigns or directed field and political programs for candidates and state Democratic parties in Michigan, Missouri, Georgia and Arizona.
Tony has a B.S. in Chemistry from the Missouri University of Science and Technology and attended law school at Saint Louis University.
