Fred Sainz
Vice President, Communications and Marketing
Fred Sainz is the Human Rights Campaign’s vice president for communications and marketing. At HRC, Sainz oversees the organization’s press office, marketing and social media functions. Sainz brings over 20 years of experience in the public affairs arena to his current assignment. Prior to HRC, Sainz served in a similar role at the Gill Foundation, the nation’s largest funder of LGBT issues. In 2008, Sainz was distinguished as the PR Professional of the Year by the Public Relations Society of America for his work as the San Diego mayor’s press secretary during that city’s devastating wildfires. Born to Cuban immigrant parents, Sainz’s legal name is Federico Sainz de la Maza and he speaks Spanish fluently.
