Dan Rafter

Online Campaigns Manager

Dan Rafter is HRC’s Online Campaigns Manager and serves as co-editor of the Backstory Blog. Dan covers a variety of topics for HRC, including the presidential election and LGBT politics, the work of anti-LGBT groups like the National Organization for Marriage, and incidents of homophobia and transphobia.

Prior to joining HRC in 2010, Dan worked in advocacy communications on a number of issues, including healthcare reform and education. Previously, Dan worked as a reporter at NPR-affiliate WFUV News in New York, covering both city and regional politics. In 2007, his work won him recognition from the New York State AP Broadcasters Association.

Dan graduated from Fordham University with bachelor’s degrees in political science and history.
