Inclusive ENDA Introduced in Senate for First Time

Today a bipartisan group of Senators introduced an inclusive Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) -- a historic first for the U.S. Senate. The bill with lead sponsors Sens. Jeff Merkley (D-OR), Susan Collins (R-ME), Edward Kennedy (D-MA) and Olympia Snowe (R-ME) would create federal protections against workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

Wisconsin's domestic partner registry is officially up and running! Yesterday, Fair Wisconsin staff and volunteers were on hand in Madison and Milwaukee to greet the same-sex couples whose relationships will finally be legally recognized. I arrived at the Dane County Building at 5:00 A.M., less than fifteen minutes ahead of the first couple!

We got word earlier today that HRC received the most votes with 38% on Kenneth Cole's Facebook charity contest. They asked users to vote for an organization to receive a $10,000 donation for their good work. Congratulations also to charity: water for their second place finish getting them $5,000. Thanks to everyone who voted!
