The following is from HRC volunteer Teri Moschetta: For the 5th year in a row, the readers of Outlook magazine, the largest LGBT publication on Long Island, chose HRC Long Island as the Best Political Organization and, for the first time, they selected HRC as the Best Overall Community Organization. In addition, HRC Long Island volunteer Alex Martinez tied for Activist of the Year, and HRC National Board of Directors co-chair Rebecca Tillet was voted Volunteer of the Year.

Equality is on the move in North Carolina – a new poll shows that more than half of residents now support legal recognition of same-sex couples.
