HRC Partners Program Temp

The Human Rights Campaign Partners program is responsible for identifying, recruiting, and stewarding donors who give a sustained monthly gift of $10 - $99 to HRC. The Partners program currently has more than 31,000 members who are committed to the cause of GLBT equality. This group of strategic givers is responsible for more than 10% of HRC’s annual budget. The temp will play an integral part with daily correspondence, pledge entry, and guaranteeing the integrity of HRC’s membership database. The Partners team that you will be a part of works to make sure these committed individuals have a strong and lasting relationship with HRC.

Responsibilities

The Partners temp will have important responsibilities from the beginning of her/his tenure at HRC.

  • Maintaining our donor databases with information changes and data entry
  • Quality control of pledge forms and pledge entry
  •  Correspondence with donors to assist with questions and concerns
  • Other assistance as needed

Qualifications

  • Ability to meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to type quickly and accurately using proper formats with proven skill to proofread own work
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel, with the ability to become adept at the use of these and other computer programs and databases
  • Willingness to learn the details of sustained monthly giving and non-profit fundraising
  • Professional, responsible & team-oriented manner
  • Demonstrated interest in gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender issues
  • Prior database and customer service experience a plus

Outcomes

  • An in-depth understanding of non-profit fundraising, particularly sustained giving, and how fundraising finances the political and educational work of a large GLBT rights organization
  • Experience handling responsibilities in a high-energy environment
  • Gain transferable database management skills
  • Observation of how a Development & Membership department uses varied income streams to meet a multi-million dollar budget
  • The opportunity to learn the work of the Human Rights Campaign across all of our departments

  • Start date is June 2, 2008, but may be flexible by 1-3 weeks depending on the needs of the department or the applicant
