Web Services Intern

The Web Services Intern position reports directly to the Deputy Director of HRC’s Website and is responsible for working with the Web Services team to assist in the maintenance of the www.hrc.org web site. Candidates should be prepared to provide at least one URL of a website they have worked on in some capacity. Internship is for 3 months full-time or 6 months part-time.

Responsibilities

  • Edit and produce web pages.
  • Assist with editing and producing graphics.
  • Update content via content management system.

Qualifications

  • Commitment to GLBT equality and the mission of the Human Rights Campaign.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, team player.
  • Experience with either Macromedia Dreamweaver or other WSYWIG HTML.
  • Some experience with hand-coding HTML.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop.
  • Passion for web design and development.
  • Interest in improving web design and development skills.

Outcomes

  • Interns will gain working knowledge of current design and usability standards.
  • Interns will gain useful insight into website development and deployment.
  • Interns will learn how to implement new technologies and techniques into effective web design.

  • This is a paid internship -- Part time (20 hrs, $131.25 /week) or Full Time (40 hrs, $262.50 / week)
  • All of our internships are based out of our offices in Washington, D.C. We cannot provide housing for our interns
